The Land

30 acres of replanted forest in beautiful Franklin County, North Carolina.

The forest is home to many types of animals, including deer, foxes, raccoons, song birds, and birds of prey.

There are many types of trees, an abundance of mushrooms, bushels of mosses, and so much more.

The Plan

Right now, we’re building trails and clearing the bramble along the access road.

Soon, we’ll be building a welcome center and our first workshop! This one will house the blacksmithing and heavy tools. Future workshops will hold pottery wheels, sewing tables, and more.

Eventually, there will be large gardens, teaching barns with goats, alpacas, donkeys, and chickens.

As we get started, living classroom programs will happen outdoors. Eventually, a dedicated STEAM classroom will hold microscopes, field soil and water test kits, books, and so many more tools of discovery!
