K-2nd Grade: Storytime & Outdoor Program

Begin with storytime in the woods! Read and learn about squirrels and their home (habitat). Go for a short exploration walk, look for squirrel nests, find and bury acorns, and spot signs of squirrels and squirrel-friends.

3rd - 6th: Outdoor Program

7th - HS: Inclues lab & microscope discovery

Begin in the greenhouse and plant seeds. Learn about plant lifecycles and pollinators. Walk the forest and identify wild edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants. End with picnic time in the forest.

4th - 8th: Outdoor Program

Learn about animal signs! Identify paw and hoof prints, learn to distinguish similar tracks. Learn about the food web through discussion of differences in scat (realistic silicone props provided for laughter and learning). Go for an exploration walk to identify wildlife sign.

6th - HS: Outdoor Program

Learn about types of birds and the roles they play in the ecosystem. Experiment with different ways to observe, record, and identify birds. High school program includes microscope feather analysis.
